FOLLOW YOUR BLISS!

And forget about your SHOULDS!

When I teach meditation – I emphasize the difference between having your attention ON SOMETHING as opposed to having your attention on AWARENESS ITSELF. The more time we spend resting our attention in Awareness OF Awareness itself versus Awareness OF anything or merged WITH life – the more empty we become – the more Silence enter our life - and the easier it is to hear in which direction we’re supposed to move. We are directed through both bliss and pain.

Excitement and Joy is put in us for the direction we’re supposed to move in. So joy will be attached to a thought that we are supposed to act on. What you feel curious and excited about equals your direction - even if the outcome is “hard or bad” - then that was the reason for the excitement - there was a lesson for you that needed to be learned in whatever event the excitement pulled you toward.

If all we have to do is listen for our bliss - Isn’t there a possibility that we’ll just lie in bed and have sex all day and eat donuts and drink wine? Some may. But it will only last for a short time. As life itself will interfere with whatever experience is needed to teach whatever each our Expression needs to learn in order to grow and eventually fall in love with seeking its True Nature or refining and deepening the awakening to it..

True Happiness means being Free of Wanting. When all of our desires and dislikes are gone – we feel just as complete as when they are fulfilled!!! When expectations and judgments are replaced with gratitude and curiosity – Harmony floods your every move. And don’t worry – being without traditional human desires is NOT boring! You will still live a life which on the surface may look like everyone else’s and you will still feel the entire spectrum of emotions - in particular peace and joy!

There is wisdom in the classic seven deadly sins: Pride, Greed, Lust, Envy, Wrath, Sloth and Gluttony. These are areas where desires of ego most easily gets caught. And when we’re no longer caught by anyone of them – we are free! When our happiness is causeless - without desire or fear – we are free! When Thy Will Be Done leads the way -`you will not get carried away by excitement nor drained by problems. When we are in union with the part life plays through us - our experience is above and beyond ordinary happiness.

Nalin Meditation

Just as we are supposed to move in the direction of our Bliss – we are also meant to move away from that which is painful. And if we listen well, that pain will be minor. But if we do not listen well – if we miss the subtle signs telling us what to move away from - The Universe will amp up its message to a level where we pay attention – this is how drama or chaos enter our life. And particularly in situations that seem to repeat. Like if we over and over find ourselves in unhealthy relationships – we did not learn from the last one – perhaps we blamed the trouble on the other person versus taking responsibility for what WE needed to learn and how we were invited to change.

So give yourself permission to follow your Bliss! And get yourself out of the routine of enduring. If something in your life is painful or boring – take a deeper look at it – ask yourself questions like – What is the reason for me being here? What is the purpose of me participating in this activity? Why am I staying at this job, in this relationship or in this living arrangement? What would happen if I left? Dare be radical. AT LEAST dare ask yourself radical questions.
