A Spiritual Nerd

When my senses slip into gluttony

I take the opportunity

To turn away from the world

And become a spiritual nerd

Much less doing

And lots of sitting

In meditation

And contemplation

This way

I do not waste my day

Feeding endless desires

Because ego just never tires

Surrender every attachment

Is important

And an unceasing art

So with a bow I start

To the Sacred Force

Which is the Source

Of my blessed affliction

The awakening addiction

Brutal honesty

Is the key

To mental and emotional nudity

And spiritual clarity

To break out of ego jail

I must face the vail

And feel each thing

Making that barricade king

Unforgiven or unhealed

To every single Truth I must yield

Fully and thoroughly

To even begin to see

That my own thoughts and beliefs

Are the Freedom thieves

I listen to those who see

More than me

And hope that Grace

Will bless my case

Please help me get out of my own way

I pray

I want to know

How to befriend each foe

The most important social practice

Is to respond with full presence

To all who come to me

But I do not seek company

When resitance is the boss

Gone is the feeling of loss

Of desires

Burnt in preventive fires

I watch News, TV and movies selectively

social media minimally

And all app notifications are silent

Those interruptors are violent

I will get back to you

When it is my time to

Alone - but not lonely at all

Im actually having a ball

full of gratitude

In the Solitude

Where meditation

Is the main transportation

To heaven´s gate

For my sacred date

And then - to stabilize the seeing

I repeatedly bring attention back to Being
