You might have heard of people avoiding food and only consuming liquids for a limited amount of time – this is called fasting – and the intention is to prevent and heal illness.

A Media Fast is when you take a break from ALL media that is not essential in order to fulfill basic life commitments.

The intention with a Media Fast is to:

1. Thoroughly learn about the WHY behind your media choices. A Media Fast will teach you things about yourself that are key to an emotionally free, joyful and evolutionary life. It is common that anxiety arises when we remove a habit that gives us comfort - so I recommend seeing a coach or therapist at least once a week during your media fast. Your support person will help you feel = heal this anxiety and question it in detail. This detective work will make the true reasons behind your anxiety known and provide an opportunity to choose transformation.

2. Allow all that you are running from to surface. Much of what we do in a day is an unconscious escape from pain and a variety of stuff we do not feel like dealing with. But since nothing can be escaped – since whatever we are running from gets buried in our flesh - and the longer it lingers there - a variety of mental, emotional or physical disorders develop. During a media fast – what is hidden will rise to the surface – and when you face and feel whatever you have been avoiding – it will be released – and you simultaneously heal the decoy condition it created.

3. Become aware of how much time you usually spend on media. This insight will give rise to alternative ideas of how this time can be spent.

I recommend 6 weeks of no social media, no television, no movies, no magazines and no books other than what is required for your education, profession and your choice of spiritually and psychologically supportive reading. You may read and respond to emails that are necessary in order to take care of your children, key relationships and your business life. In these emails - you will only exchange facts - and no form of social chatter or gossiping. You can still be respectful and kind.

A Media Fast is for fearless and adventurous truth-lovers who passionately want to heal and evolve at any expense. Life is not about what we do. But how and why. And those who are willing to walk right through the fire of WHY - will only burn that which nurtures ego and wastes time. The result is always immense joy, freedo Want to add a caption to this image? I am not saying that removing all media for all future is the answer to true happiness! I’m just recommending a 6-week Media Fast as a way of getting to know yourself better.

Spiritual Journey
Media Fast

Of course - there are many ways in which we run from truth and healing. A Media Fast is just one of several methods to truly nurture yourself. You may believe that you are a perfectly happy person and confident with your media and other life choices. I still challenge you to this Media Fast – most people are quite surprised at what they learn about themselves. At the end of the fast you can take all your media back if you so wish. At least then you will be conscious of what it is you are actually doing, not doing, and the consequences on your life.
