On A Hard Day

On a hard day

I feel alone

Not lonely

But in need of a hug

When the little I

Feels backed into a corner

A listening ear would be nice

But when no one is curious

No one understands

Or

No one is around

I fall back into the Witness

And see the sad heart

Lost

In a fragile

Flickering beat

Tears stuck

In the throat

And in the flesh of my face

Reality caught

In the old

narrow-minded web

Of rigid expectations

The head pulsating

From the pain

Of stubbornly

Resisting

what IS

So like a wise mother

I relax into Being

rock my heart

And gently hold

This kicking, crying baby

Patiently

I give ego space

And time

To be

Mad and sad

Until slowly

The temper tantrum

Runs out of fear

And the dense dark

Cloud of NO

Starts to dissolve

Love IS

The beam of Light

Coaching the little I back

Into the warm Silence

Where Truth

Seen unfiltered

Felt

And accepted

Returns sanity

And then patience and trust

Unite to re-ignite gratitude

For the never ending gifts

Of the Unknown

Now
