The Gift

I did not want

Was the most important one

A hand-me-down

From this life or another

Which cannot be returned

Nor can it be exchanged

So out of my shadow

I welcome this favor

And scrutinize it

With respect

It is a mirror

And the key

To clearing karma

If I turn my back

On this asset

Wasted

Is Grace

And lost

Is deepened

Awakening

Therefore I relax

Open my Heart

And allow

The burn

Of Divine Love

Pain

Flooding the clogged vein

Melting

Releasing

And then

Little by little

Through a thinning veil

Finally

Sacred Light

Fertilizing

my Sight
